Planting Tips
Also see the bulb package for specific planting information.
These bulbs are best planted in Fall, any time after the first hard frost. In the Prince George region, late September/early October is ideal. That said, bulbs can be planted later, as long as the soil can be worked.
Choose a site with well draining soil in full to part sun. Amend soil to improve nutrients and texture if needed. Bone meal can also be mixed into the soil at the base of the bulb.
Plant bulbs 6 inches (15 cm) apart and 6 inches (15 cm) deep with the pointed end facing up.
To finish planting, lightly water the in soil.
In Spring after bulbs finish flowering, allow foliage to die back naturally. Stems can be bent onto the ground to make them less visible. Clean up or trim foliage after it has dried out and easily separates from the bulb.
